In Science Daily Online we talk to you once about 14 unpleasant things about your body.On this occasion we want to inform you about that «accident» that happens to us sometimes and makes us blush if it happens in public: flatulence or farts.
1.Only 1% of our farts smell bad
99% of our gases are composed of carbon dioxide, hydrogen , oxygen and methane. In fact, curiously, the exact composition of our farts is completely personal and unique in each of us, since, as a footprint fingerprint , the shape of our intestine is different in each individual.Of all our flatulence only one 1% smells bad .What causes the bad smell of the farts? The sulfuric gases such as sulfur, methanethiol and dimethyl sulfide are responsible for the different types of "aroma" (terrible!) Of flatulence.

What is intrinsically related to Bad smell of our gases is the diet .The cabbage and the carbohydrates complex, such as fiber, sugar and starch they cause flatulence.
2.Internal bacteria are the ones that cause your gas
A lot of the bacteria in your body live in your digestive system.Gas are the product-the residue -generated by the bacteria in your colon when they are responsible for processing the carbohydrates .So, you know, «it wasn't me, it was my bacteria bowel ».
3.The daily average of flatulence po r person is...14!
We are not always aware of when we release a flatulence.Throughout the day we can feel that it happens to us, but do you know if it does while you sleep ?

We release more gases than we think and in fact the average is in 14 times a day .Surprising! True? It is normal to have flatulence between 13 and 21 a day.
4.Chewing gum, smoking and talking cause gas
As we have seen, farts are composed of specific gases, but they can also be caused by an excess air in the colon , in which case in addition to the mentioned gases we will find nitrogen.
But, how does it come, you will have an excess of air in the colon? Simple: when we swallow .Swallowing, speaking or chewing causes us to accumulate more air and then this or out above belching or below.

How to avoid it? Chewing slowly and avoiding talking while eating.
In the case of smokers , it is believed that when they smoke they swallow more air and that is why they tend to have more gas, although this is more a theory than a scientifically proven fact.
5.Hormonal changes also cause us to have more gases
Hormones have a lot to do with gases.During menstruation Some women notice that they have more gases than when they are not in this cycle.

Why? Apparently the inner lining of the small intestine and stomach contains estrogen receptors s.When increasing the amount of this hormone during the menstrual cycle, a chaos occurs in our apparatus digestive.Everything slows down and many more gases are generated in the intestine, constipation and flatulence. In case we don't have enough!
