Since 1992, when the first extrasolar planets, or exoplanets (planets outside the solar system) were detected, 1,288 planetary systems have been discovered, with some 2,030 celestial objects that could be considered as planets. Most of these objects are closer to Jupiter than to Earth, both in terms of size and composition, as they are usually gaseous, like the four great planets of our solar system.
The search for planets outside our planetary system is oriented to an eventual identification of objects similar to Earth, both by location and size and composition, and we may be about to find one at a relatively close distance.
There could be a planet like our Earth 16 light years away...
A team of astronomers coordinated by Suman Satyal , of The University of Texas is studying a planetary system of the state Gliese 832 , a red dwarf with half the size of our sun, located 16 light years away and with two planets orbiting it: Gliese 832b , a giant Jupiter-like gas; and Gliese 832c , which could be a super-earth, a very large rocky planet. The first is 3.54 AU of its sun, and the second at 0.16 AU.The UA, or astronomical unit, equivalent to the distance between the Sun and the Earth, and a planet like our Earth, potentially speaking, with life and water in a liquid state, would have to be 1 or 2 AU from a star with characteristics similar to our sun.

And it is in that direction that Suman Satyal's team points, as it has been published in an article published in the magazine arXiv.org .Studying data on the orbit and behavior of 832b and c, and performing computer simulations, they have estimated that there should be a planet like our earth in an orbit that could have favorable conditions for life. This planet would be between the two already discovered (832b and 832c), it would be rocky and it would have 15 times the mass of the Earth. This hypothetical planet could be between 0.25 and 2 AU of the red dwarf.
We will have to wait for new astronomical observations around this solar system, before we can announce with certainty the existence of a sister planet “only” 16 light years from us.The quotes are not free, because it is a relative proximity , given that with current technology it would take 120 thousand years to arrive with a manned ship, and with the mini probes of the “Starshot” project, promoted by Stephen Hawking, it would be a one-way trip of 80 years .
But it would still give much to think about the existence of a planet with life possibilities so close to the Earth. It is possible that in 100 years the human being will begin the planetary move, Do not you believe it? Stay a little longer with us reading if it is possible that there are more undiscovered planets in our own solar system.
