If you look at them with the naked eye they do not seem to differ from other rock formations, but they are unique since except in some areas of Russia, they are not found in other parts of the world.Scientists when opening these stones they have observed in their interior a type of rings similar to those of trees and by which you can know the age of the trovant. For that reason, some point that could be said This is an inorganic lifestyle.

The trovants began to form 6 million years ago surely due to an extraordinary seismic activity .Its measures range from a few centimeters to 10 meters high. Its uniqueness is that "reproduce" .By effect of water s and wets the outer layer and penetrates the interior of the stone rich in mineral salts. These get wet, expand and exert pressure on the surface that begins to spread giving the feeling that the stone grows .Sometimes the growth causes the resulting bump to come off creating a new stone .
Trovants also move , advancing in some cases up to about 2.5 mm per week.Specialists indicate that this phenomenon is due to varying bumps they lean on either side and this produces a slight displacement. There are also researchers who say that the stones breathe on a practically invaluable scale since days or weeks can pass between breaths and that with a high sensitivity device can detect a kind of pulse in the stones g>.Curious, isn't it? For all these singularities they are known as «living stones».

The trovants, are actually composed of sandstone concretions, that is, sand in layers united by a cement of carbonate salts and that have been formed due to the action of water.
