Did you know that there are certain seasons of the anus in which your brain thinks better? A study has proved it!
Summer, winter...? There are seasons where you think better!
We have all noticed how the seasons of the year influence our mood, making us happier in summer and sadder in the winter season.that we did not know is that they can also affect our intellectual capacity.
According to a recent study, carried out by researchers from the University of Liège (Belgium) and published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), depending on the season of the year that is our intellectual capacity becomes more effective or less.
In that study, researchers analyzed 14 men and 14 women, with an average of 21 years of age, at different times of the year between May 2010 and October 2011.
The participants were 4 and a half days in laboratories where could not perceive the changes that occurred in the outside world, such as the t At this time it was or was night or day.
During this period, scientists used brain scans while employees tested their abilities to pay attention and remember information in the short term.
The results showed that the attention skills of the participants were much better at the time of the solstice of summer , especially in June, and deteriorated when winter approached, exactly in December. With regard to short-term memory, the performance was better in autumn and worse in the spring.
At the moment, the researchers do not know exactly the way in which the stations intervene in the development of the brain, but, according to Gilles Vandewalle, co-author of the study, “they are the most likely responsible” of these changes.
Factors such as humidity, temperature, duration of the day or the level of social interaction between people, which is usually lower during the winter months, would be involved.
On the other hand, Gilles ensures that people with seasonal affective disorder or who suffer from depression, are more vulnerable to the effects that the stations generate in our brain.
