In Science Daily Online we have written many things about these fantastic animals, about how they see the world, or about black cats.Today we will talk about certain cat breeds that are quite peculiar.
Exotic cats. Some curious breeds that you might not know
The sphinx or sphynx cat
Its main feature is its apparent lack of fur .It's not that they don't have hair, it's that their skin is covered with a very thin and short hair that is almost imperceptible to touch or sight.
This appearance is the result of a natural genetic mutation what happened in Canada in the sixties and of breeders who decided to maintain this characteristic as a unique type and structure to form a race.
Their lack of fur gives their face to the aspect of sphinx from which its name comes, but if you think they are better because you will not have hair on the sofa, the truth is that instead they leave a grease stain where they have been a long time, because your skin produces natural oils, which should be cleaned with a damp sponge every day.
The Ukrainian levkoy
This is one of the most recent cat breeds.Only in 2004 was this kitten born from the cross between a female sphynx and a male with droopy ears.
Also comes without fur and looks almost mythological.Stylized body and medium size, it has its flat head at the top.Its eyes can be of various colors and differs from the sphinx cat in that its ears fall forward.
As you may have guessed, it is on e everything in Ukraine. Also in Russia.
Cornish rex
This breed is native to southern England, from Cornwall The first specimen was born in 1950 and was the product of the crossing of two common shorthair cats.
Their main characteristics are that they have a sunken abdomen like a greyhound, soft, wavy and short fur; Its body is thin and with a fine skeleton. It can present any color.
Exotic shorthair cat
It is a beautiful cat that has the same complexion of Persian cat with the difference that he has short hair.
It is a hybridization created from british shorthair and american shorthair with the Persians to obtain a specimen of robust complexion with short, dense hair.It was accepted as a purebred in 1967.
Although not as popular as his Persian brother, this exotic cat is sought not only for its beauty but because of the care the hair is less complicated, it does not fall so much and, very important, it generates less allergies.
It is characterized by a rounded body, flat and short nose, large round eyes and small ears.It is common I have a calm character, although curious and playful (like a good cat).Almost never meow and, remarkable and curious, they show more loyalty and affection towards their owner than most other breeds.
