According to the publication, the right technique for Washing your hands is the six steps, which consists of rubbing six different parts of the hand, palm to palm, against the back, rub the thumbs and use the sanitizer (either soap or disinfectant alcohol-based gel) between the fingers.
To reach this conclusion, researchers at the University of Glasgow Caledonian worked with 42 doctors and 78 nurses from a university hospital in Glasgow.Half of them were I assign the method of the three steps and the other half the six.
After interacting with patients, the scientists accumulated various samples of the volunteers, discovering that the six-step technique reduces the amount average of microbes from 3.28 to 2.58 CFU/ml, while that of the three steps decreases only 3.08 to 2.88 CFU/ml.
So those who did the six-step technique got 21% less bacteria than the three-step method.Although this form requires 42.5 seconds to be carried out, compared to the 5 seconds required by the 3 steps.
« The study provides the first evidence in a randomized controlled trial that the six-step technique is better, therefore international guidance documents should take this evidence into account, as do health organizations, ”the researchers explained./p>
