This time, the technology and science has worked together for a solidarity purpose.Thanks to Limbitless Solutions , a community of engineers working at the University of Florida, several disabled children have been fortunate to receive bionic arms very unique.It consists of a device that is manufactured entirely with a 3D printer.

Albert Manero has been in charge of starting this project.Although he graduated 3 years ago, he and other students of Faculty started a business that allowed them to deploy an innovative idea.

Manero Aerospace engineering study and in the current As a PhD in mechanical engineering, Manero coincided last year with Alex Pring , a child who has a congenital malformation in his right arm.The infant's parents did not receive health coverage to cover all expensive prostheses , so they looked for alternative solutions on their own.In this way, they met Manero online, thanks to an international platform of volunteers, therapists and inventors, called E-nable .

The bionic arm was designed and manufactured in seven weeks, using a 3D printer, in addition to including batteries and gears that worked with electrodes implanted in the child's arm.In this way, they achieved other of their objectives, to produce this model of devices for a total of 350 dollars, instead of the thousands that cost previously sold arms.
